This site was created for guys who have sex with guys. Some guys call themselves gay and some do not. The info on this site is geared for guys no matter what you call yourselves. We only want you to know good and true information so that you can stay healthy and keep those you care about safe!

Finding a Doctor

Find a doctor you can trust, one you can be "out" to, so he or she can provide the best possible care. Talk with your doc about whatever you put into your body...meds, another guy's dick or party favors. You'll have to shop around. If you have health insurance, look at the list of doctors that accept your insurance. Most doctors will give you a 15 minute free "get to know yah" meeting if you ask for it. You can ask him or her about how they practice medicine. If you don't like the responses you get at least you'll know this doc isn't for you before they have a scope up your bum.

The key is to be honest about your expectations for health care and treatment, and be honest about your health issues. Remember doctors are humans too and they need your help in getting you the best health care possible.

If you don't have insurance, there are many local clinics and walk-in care programs that allow you to pay on a sliding scale or payments over time. Maine also has other options for health insurance here are some links that may help you.
